The project site is located on the west
side of U.S. Highway 101 and provides a first impression of San
Luis Obispo County for southbound highway travelers. The surrouding
west side area is primarily zoned agriculture.
The top 3 pictures are of agriculture on
the project site. The Grizzle Land & Development Corporation
purchased over 600 acres of agriculturally zoned land in hopes of
persuading San Miguel residents and our Board of Supervisors that
urban development should be a welcome departure from our
agricultural heritage and lifestyle.
The lower
photos represent the various family farms and ranches which are
located adjacent to and within close proximity of the "San Miguel
Ranch" development project. These farming, ranching and
agricultural uses range from vineyards, orchards, and grain crops
to horses, cattle, llama and sheep ranches. Introducing a large and sprawling urban development
will have a lasting and devastating impact on our agricultural
community and our small town of San Miguel. The photographs help
tell our story.
